Nursery Hours and Charges
We are pleased to offer our Nursery families a variety of options to suit your circumstances. If you have any questions, please contact the school office. For more information about Nursery Admissions, please click here.
To let us know which sessions you want to book, please complete the Nursery Hours Confirmation Form, available at the bottom of this page, and return it to the school office.
8.30am - 11.30am: Mornings Only - Free
All nursery children at St John's attend the morning sessions from 8.30am - 11.30am, Monday to Friday. This time is covered by the government's 15 Hours Free Childcare, available to all three-year olds.
Children should be collected promptly at 11.30am unless you have booked a Full Day.
8.30am - 3.15pm: Full Day with a 30 Free Hours funding code
If you would like your child to stay at school from 11.30am until 3.15pm, you can book a Full Day. This must be booked and paid for in advance via your ParentPay account.
With a 30 Free Hours funding code: £5 / day
You must provide a 30 hour funding code to the school before your child joins the nursery. For more information about getting a code, please see below or contact the school office. The £5 charge covers the 45 minute lunchtime session.
Without a funding code: £20 / day
If you do not have a funding code, but would like your child to stay at school from 11.30am until 3.15pm, you can add on the option of a Full Day session at £20 per day per child.
All extra hours must be booked and paid for in advance via ParentPay. Please note that lunches for nursery children are chargeable. Please book and pay for your child's lunch in advance via ParentPay. You are also welcome to provide a packed lunch.
Free Hours Funding Codes
Many families are eligible for the government's Free Childcare for Working Parents scheme, which provides up to 30 hours of childcare per week in term time.
If you wish to apply for this scheme, please click here. When you apply, you will be sent a code you must supply to the school.
Please note that the entitlement to free hours begins at the start of term following application.

You must reconfirm your eligibility on the government website every three months. If you do not reconfirm, your funded hours will stop and you will need to pay for any additional hours.

Wraparound Care
Please contact the school office if you are interested in your nursery child attending Breakfast Club or After-School Club.
